JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say a 71-year-old man was found fatally shot in his Hillsdale County home.

The sheriff's department says James T. Harper's girlfriend found him dead of a gunshot wound to the head Saturday morning in Jefferson Township.

Authorities want to question a 49-year-old man who had been living at the home with Harper for two years. The man was missing along with his belongings and a 1992 white Chevrolet Astro van owned by Harper.

Jefferson Township is located about 85 miles southwest of Detroit.
