Funeral Today for UP Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

The soldier for an Upper Peninsula soldier killed in Afghanistan will take place this afternoon.

The funeral for Amy Specialist Christopher Griffin will be held at 2:00 at the Rudyard Area School Gymnasium.

Specialist Griffin grew up in Kincheloe and graduated from Rudyard High School in 2004. He enlisted in the Army right after graduation. He was one of eight servicemen killed in a Taliban led ambush two weeks ago.

We will be at the funeral for Specialist Griffin and will bring you continuing coverage on our evening broadcasts.

I feel for his family and they are all in my thoughts. I believe that this is the brother to my sons soccer coach but it has not been confirmed yet. Thank you for your help in this war. You will never be forgotten.
