Police believe alcohol played a role in a deadly rollover crash in Mackinac County.

The deadly accident happened early Sunday morning on County Road H-33 near Curtis in Portage Township.

Police say a van ran off the side of the road, rolled several times in the ditch and struck and snapped off a power pole. All three people inside were thrown from the van.

The driver, Eric Johnson from Goshen, Indiana, died at the scene. Joanne Johnson and Craig Woolsey, also from Indiana, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police are still investigating the accident.
