Isabella County Family Loses Everything » View Picture » Play Video » Feedback (2)
A family of four is trying to pick up the pieces after losing all they had during an early morning fire on Wednesday.
Richard Markva tells us he and his wife were at home watching TV yesterday when they noticed lost of smoke coming from a bedroom. The couple got out safely along with their two dogs. They say their cat died in the fire. We're told the fire started near a touch lamp or an electric fan - investigators are still looking into the cause. A neighbor is collecting donations to help the family get back on its feet. They will also be looking for a place to stay this weekend; they will be out of Red Cross hotel vouchers by Friday. To help the family, contact Frieda Haggert, 989-465-6096. Clothing donations are needed in the following sizes: Men's shirts: 2x and Large men's pants: 42x30, 34x43, 30x30 women's shirts: medium women's pants: size 8
