Another Northern Michigan manufacturer has announced it will close its doors.
Metavation LLC is an auto parts manufacturer in Traverse City.
A spokesperson for the company says it will lay off more than one hundred employees in the coming months.
Employees tell us they're shocked but still not surprised.
They say they knew their jobs were at risk, but that it's still hard to take the reality of it.
A spokesperson for the company says they're in the process of issuing layoff notices to 122 employees.
Most of the layoffs will happen in early December, right before the holidays.
Metavation makes parts for car engines and chassis, and has several other plants in Michigan.
The company expects to move around 30 to 40 jobs from Traverse City to Mt. Pleasant.
