It's a big part of the Crawford County community, now Camp Grayling is being recognized for it's contribution to the local economy.
Thousands of soldiers go through training every year at the military facility. That means they are spending money in the area. Plus, Camp Grayling is spending millions of dollars in upgrading the facility and it's keeping money in the community by hiring local.
That's why Crawford County leaders formally thanked the military at a forum Monday night. The leaders get together every year to talk about what's going on in their communities. This year they decided to also recognize Camp Grayling.
For 30 years I took my family to Grayling when I could and we are all grateful for the Great memories of staying in a cottage on the lake. Thank You Grayling for being an important part of my families memories.
Excuse me but "miss" I think that you misunderstof what the people before you had written. Noone was "belly aching" as you put it about the money not going to the town of Grayling. They were simply stating that people that work on the base are saying they have no money to fix things that are broken ON BASE, but that they are spending money on the upgrade.
I think it is nice that this is happening to Camp Grayling and it would be great if they could do something to the Mt. Pleasant Center up and running again. We definitely need to take care of our soldiers and if we could do that in their home state, even better. What can we do to see if we can't get the Mt. Pleasant Center back up and running? Any ideas?
Hello!!! You people have to remember our military comes to Camp Grayling for training NO MATTER WHAT PART OF THE YEAR IT IS. They are training because a lot of them are going to be deployed (if they haven't already). They're training to protect OUR country and this is the least that should be done and it's about time that Camp Grayling is getting this done. So stop whining and belly aching because the money didn't go to your town. It's about time something good happened in Grayling. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS AND KEEP THEM SAFE!!!!
That's great.
We would like to see the military help in re-opening the Mt. Pleasant Center which has already put millions of State dollars into it's upkeep and is now closed. This is a wonderful place for the military returning from war to recover and let us take care of them.
You prepare them for the war, we would repair them from the war.
It would be nice to have Mid Michigan work together and save many who have saved us.
That wounderful upgrade the facility spend millons on new stuff but there no money to fix broken equipment around the base now, no money to fix that is all were told, oh yea we have to cut back on personal, sounds like a base clouser to me
