Tonight the dream of owning a home is finally coming true for a Northern Michigan family, thanks to Habitat for Humanity.
The Crawford family of nine broke ground on what will be their new home in Pellston tonight.
Volunteers from Habitat for Humanity, the family, and students from Pellston High School's Building and Trades class will build the four bedroom, two bathroom home.
The Crawford family says home ownership was something they couldn't have done on their own.
The family's youngest child has cancer, and they say this will bring them some much needed stability.
The Crawford family should be able to move into their new home next May.
Erika Waddell and photojournalist Josh Strand have the story.
