The fire north of Los Angeles is almost 50 percent contained, and firefighters are hoping they'll get some help from cooler, more humid weather.

Local and state politicians have increasingly become victims of violence since Mexico launched an offensive against drug cartels in late 2006. BOSTON (AP) — Two great white sharks spotted near Cape Cod today are being tracked with the help of a high-tech tag using satellite technology. A harpooner tagged them with help from a Massachusetts shark expert. It's the first time great whites have ever been tagged in the Atlantic Ocean.
