Slayings arrest...Wildfire reward...Space grub

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) — Police in Georgia have arrested the man who called 911 to report last weekend's slayings in a mobile home. Authorities are charging 22-year-old Guy Heinze Jr. with killing the eight people who died in the attack. Seven of those who died where Heinze's relatives.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever set a deadly wildfire north of Los Angeles. Two firefighters were killed in the blaze when their truck plummeted off a mountain road. More than 70 homes have been destroyed.

WASHINGTON (AP) — After two days in Afghanistan, two key Democratic senators say the U.S. should focus on training Afghan security forces, rather than sending in more U.S. troops. Sens. Carl Levin and Jack Reed met with Marines in Helmand and spoke with government leaders and ministers in Kabul during their trip.

MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) — Washington's new ambassador to Mexico says the U.S. needs to stop weapons from slipping through its borders into the hands of drug gangs in Mexico. During the close of the U.S.-Mexico Border Governors Conference, Carlos Pascual said the U.S. "cannot continue to arm the cartels."

WASHINGTON (AP) — Space cuisine isn't limited to Tang and freeze dried ice cream. The space station's newest resident, astronaut Nicole Stott, says she can sample foods from the U.S., Canada, Japan, Europe and Russia, while she orbits the globe. Stott will stay in the outpost until November after hitching a ride with Discovery.
