Police: Help Needed to Find "Dangerous" Man » View Picture » Play Video » Feedback (5)
It's been more than a day since police in Osceola County began searching for a wanted man they originally tried to stop for speeding.
Police tell us Dennis Dorries crashed a stolen Dodge Durango after he sped away from a police car near Tustin. Then he ran into a nearby wooded area where tracking dogs eventually lost his trail. Police say there are two warrants out for Dorries' arrest in Wexford County. He's been in prison four times previously, beginning in 1995. The car Dorries was driving was stolen from Oklahoma. Inside of it police found two guns as well as small stockpiles of food, water and camping supplies. "We don't want him out there," says Jim Crawford, sheriff of Osceola County. "But [based on his past] he's probably going to be hard to come up with." They believe he's still somewhere around Osceola or Wexford County. If you've seen him, you're encouraged to call 9-1-1 or Silent Observer. 9&10's Michael Kasiborski and photojournalist Jordan Nagel have more on the search.
