WASHINGTON (AP) — A crowd including senators and staff members has been waiting outside the U.S. Capitol for a farewell to Ted Kennedy. The senator's casket arrived at Andrews Air Force Base outside Washington following a flight from Boston, where his funeral took place this morning. Burial will take place later today at Arlington National Cemetery.
VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass. (AP) — President Barack Obama has resumed his vacation on Martha's Vineyard, after delivering the eulogy at Sen. Ted Kennedy's funeral. Obama told mourners that Kennedy had been "given a gift of time that his brothers were not," and that he used it to "right as many wrongs as the years would allow." BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) — Police aren't yet saying just how seven people were killed at a mobile home on a historic plantation in southeastern Georgia. The seven victims, and two people who are hospitalized in critical condition, were found this morning after a family member called 911. CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — Astronauts on the space shuttle Discovery have fired an engine to help close the gap with the international space station, in advance of tomorrow night's scheduled linkup. The crew members then prepared to inspect their spaceship for signs of damage from last night's launch. NEW YORK (AP) — On what would have been the 51st birthday of Michael Jackson, thousands of his fans have been making the occasion by dancing to his music. They gathered in the rain in a park in Brooklyn, for a celebration hosted by filmmaker Spike Lee. He directed two music videos for Jackson in 1996, and says he "loved his talent."
