A project paid for by a $1.6-million Economic Development Administration grant is expected to bring jobs and money to Newberry.
The grant is through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and will benefit the expansion of the Luce County Industrial Park.
The money will be used to turn an open field into a ready-to-go location to start a business, with water, electricity, sewer, roads and a railroad.
The Luce County Economic Development Corporation hopes business owners, or potential business owners will see this as an opportunity to expand or start a business in Luce County.
Construction is expected to be finished by next summer.
9&10's Christina Vecchioni and photojournalist Aaron Smith have more details.
