Police Investigating Several Newberry Business Break-ins » View Picture » Play Video » Feedback (0)
Police in Luce County are trying to find who's behind six Newberry business break-ins in the last two days.
Someone targeted Neals Automotive Parts, Newberry Florist, The Barrett Company, Old Bank Collection of Shops and UP Trading Co. sometime overnight between Monday and Tuesday. Police say last Thursday someone broke into Johnny's Bar, and then again last night. Undersheriff Michael Jago says there is a good chance these break-ins could be related and that one good lead could help put an end to it. Police say whoever is doing this appears to force their way through the door looking for money. Some businesses say they're missing just a few dollars, while others say several hundred is gone. Some business owners say they will have to increase security. If you have any information on the crimes, call the Luce County Sheriff's Department. 9&10's Christina Vecchioni and photojournalist Aaron Smith have more details.
