Deadly blasts in Iraq...Typhoons in Asia...Clinton in Iran

BAGHDAD (AP) —A double truck bombing has killed at least 23 people in northern Iraq and wounded about 128. Several bombings have also been reported in Baghdad. Iraqi officials are putting the overall toll for the pre-dawn violence at about 40 people killed.

TOKYO (AP) — Authorities are reporting at least a dozen people dead after a typhoon slammed into Japan. Hundreds of homes have been flooded and thousands of people have been evacuated. Elsewhere in Asia, another typhoon killed dozens and forced nearly 1 million people to flee to safety in China.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says the United States has no illusions that Iran will return to negotiations over its nuclear program. She adds that the U.S. doesn't plan to wait "forever" for Tehran to respond its overtures.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — More than three dozen inmates have been released from hospitals after being involved in weekend riot at a Southern California prison. More than 250 inmates were wounded in the fracas. Officials say the riot was racially motivated.

HOBOKEN, N.J. (AP) — Divers return to the murky waters of New York's Hudson River this morning, in an effort to find the last two bodies from this weekend's fatal crash. Nine people were killed -- including members of a Pennsylvania family and tourists from Italy -- when a small plane and a sightseeing helicopter crashed near Manhattan Saturday.
