BAY CITY, Mich. (AP) — A Bay City man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for stabbing his ex-wife more than a dozen times.
Forty-three-year-old Robert Ellison was sentenced Monday in Bay County Circuit Court to 15 to 22½ years in prison, with credit for 296 days already served. The Bay City Times reports Ellison pleaded no contest to assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. Prosecutors dropped a charge of assault with intent to murder. Police say Ellison used a kitchen knife to repeatedly stab his then-28-year-old ex-wife Oct. 10, 2008, in her home in Bay County's Bangor Township, about 95 miles north-northwest of Detroit. ___ Information from: The Bay City Times, http://www.mlive.com/bay-city
