It was a combined celebration in Missaukee County as a community came together to remember two very important people.

The event took place at noon today at the Missaukee District Library in Lake City.

This year would mark the 100th birthday of Dr. Charles Ardis, the original benefactor who donated 1 millions dollars to the Missaukee District Library.

Today was also to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the library and the grand re-opening of the new Reeder Park.

Michelle Moore, Director of the library says that the library has something for everybody, and she's glad that it is so well used.

The day concluded with the official name change of the library to the Adris Missaukee District Library in honor of Dr. Ardis and his wife Virginia.
