An 87 year old woman from the Maple City area, got quite a scare Sunday afternoon in a car-deer accident. The Mecosta County Sheriff's Department says the accident happened around 1:30 p.m., on U.S. 131, near 11 mile road in Big Rapids Township. The woman was a passenger in a car that struck the deer. The force of the impact brought the deer right into the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The deer apparently struck the woman, who deputies say suffered non-life threatening injuries. She was transported to Mecosta County Medical Center for treatment.
