Roscommon County Dispatch says 911 dispatch and Verizon cell phone service is down in the Houghton Lake and Prudenville areas.

Crews are working on the issue but they are not sure when it will be fixed.

If you have an emergency, you should go to your local fire hall.

This not only affected 911 service but Alltel and even Sprint phones are reported not working. Guess sharing a tower means everyone loses when one tower goes out of service.
