Cops Pool Resources to Buy Doughnut Shop

The nine new owners of a bakery in Clare have one thing in common: they all wear a badge for their day jobs.
Faced with the possibility of another storefront going empty in their town, nine police officers in the city of Clare stepped up to buy the local bakery.
"Not only was it our idea to save the bakery, but we also couldn't let another business close down," says Brian Gregory, a police officer and part-owner of the bakery.
The new shop, now called "Cops and Doughnuts" opened Wednesday and through word-of-mouth tripled the business done in a normal day.
The official grand opening of the doughnut shop will be July 21.
