After 4 years of being closed to the public, East Bay Park in Petoskey is back open.
The health department shut down the park 4 years ago and crews have been working to make it environmentally friendly again.
East Bay Park was built at the site of a former cement plant.
High levels of PH from the kiln dust that accumulated at the site posed a threat to people.
A spokesman for CMS says all the health concerns are gone now and although the foggy weather made it difficult to see the great views, he say the re-opening was a huge success.
He says even thought it took a lot of time and money, having the park open again is tremendously satisfying.
The spokesman says CMS is obligated and will continue to monitor the park to ensure that it remains safe for the public.
