One man is without a home tonight after his house caught on fire.

The fire started shortly after 5 pm in Prudenville in Roscommon County.

The fire Chief says the fire started in the kitchen area of the home and it didn't take long for firefighters to put it out.

The Chief says having enough man power was a problem at first, which is why they needed to call 2 other departments for back up.

Because the house is attached to another business, the Chief says there was a concern that the fire could spread to the surrounding buildings.

No one was inside the house at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and it is not thought to be suspicious.
