Three student-athletes, including two Mid-American Conference champions, from the Central Michigan men’s track and field team hope to add to their individual accomplishments in the outdoor season this weekend.
MAC champions Greg Pilling and Oz Lifshitz join teammate Marcus Breidinger at the NCAA Mideast Regionals this weekend in Louisville, Ky. While the two-day meet begins on Friday, all three Chippewas’ events are being held on Saturday. Pilling enters the meet owning the MAC crown in the discus. The London, Ont. native’s school-record toss of 191-1 is the 12th best among all NCAA competitors. The junior is also competing in the hammer throw, where he finished runner-up at the conference meet. Lifshitz won the triple jump at both the MAC Indoor and Outdoor Championships and looks to improve his personal best of 49-11 3/4 against a crowded field in the event. Breidinger scored at the MAC Outdoor Championships and his season-best vault of 16-6 3/4 was tied for the highest in the conference.
