State Troopers are literally working overtime to make sure northern Michigan highways stay safe this Memorial Day weekend.
"We're going to try and target the aggressive driver who's speeding and tailgating," Trooper Eric Sumpter told 9 & 10 News.
Troopers will be looking for speeders, drunk drivers, aggressive drivers, proper hitching and will enforce seat belt laws.
"It'll be interesting to see what traffic volumes are with all that negativity with the economy, with the gas prices and what they are. Which is still a lot less than last year," Trooper Sumpter told 9 & 10 News.
9 & 10's Ted Haller and Photojournalist Stephanie Adkins go along for the ride with Trooper Sumpter.
