Bike Memorializes Fallen Soldier from Cheboygan » View Picture » Play Video » Feedback (0)
A custom motorcycle on display at Wheeler Motors in Cheboygan was supposed to be a gift for Army Sergeant Matthew Blaskowski when he returned home from his tour of duty in Afghanistan. But sniper fire killed the 27-year-old on Sept. 23rd.
Now the bike is a tribute to his life, showing pictures of his personal and professional achievements. Blaskowski's parents hope it will help raise awareness and support for their son's Italian-based platoon, expected to return from Afghanistan in just a few months. They are trying to raise money to throw the 173rd 2-503 Army Airborne Battalion a welcome home celebration. Donations can be sent to: 173rd Sky Angels Fund c/o Terry and Cheryl Blaskowski PO BOX 164 Cheboygan, MI 49721 A fundraiser will also be held July 3rd at the V.F.W Hall in Cheboygan from 6 p.m. to midnight.
