A hearing began in the U.P. today to determine if a Missaukee County man should stand trial for the death of his wife. He's accused of pushing her over a cliff last June. Tom Richardson of McBain is charged with murder and manslaughter.
Prosecutors say he pushed his wife Juanita over a cliff to her death at the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Alger County. Investigators say Tom did it, hoping to collect more than $240,000 in life insurance payouts, as well as continue an affair with another woman. Richardson says he is innocent. 9 &10's Mona Nair and photojournailst Nick Kuiper were in the court room today in Alger County with one of the first people on the stand today.
