Both democrats and republicans earned favor with the student electorate at Leland High School last Thursday. Races decided by those students in their mock election were split between candidates from both parties.
Teacher Ed Wodek is the mastermind behind the election and political rally, a two decade-old northern Michigan tradition now. He says the students' decisions aren't necessarily a gauge for how the state votes on election day.
