Cody Boyer joined the 9&10 News team in May 2014. He is now a news reporter out of the Cadillac bureau and fill-in anchor.
Cody graduated from Northern Michigan University in Marquette with his bachelor’s degree in Media Production & New Technology, while dual-minoring in English Writing and Communications. Prior to becoming part of the 9&10 News team, Cody worked five years at WNMU TV13, starting as an anchor at Public Eye News and eventually becoming the producer/director of the student-run newscast. He also wrote for The North Wind independent newspaper before becoming the paper’s sports editor and, eventually, editor-in-chief. Finally, last but not least, Cody also served as a radio personality for NMU’s radio station, Radio X. He commentated NMU Wildcat hockey, winning several awards, and is a former student ambassador for the CCHA.
Cody has a deep love for the country-side of Northern Michigan, and lived most of his life in Gladwin, Michigan. He graduated from Gladwin High School in 2009. He’s dedicated past commitments to being a member of 4-H for nine years and a past Boy Scout, where he acquired some of his passion for nature and people.
He enjoys caring for his dogs, cats and chickens, all while spending time with loved ones and family. You can find him on his off-time playing his guitar, spending time outside, reading Stephen King and playing the occasional video game.
