Corey Adkins is the Director of Photojournalism at 9&10 News.
A native of Fenton, MI he moved “Up North” to work at 9&10 News in 1998. He started working on Michigan This Morning as the original “On the Road” cameraman where live on TV he took Northern Michigan to many interesting places and met a lot of great people. He was the first to go live from the top of the Mackina Bridge and he was also the first to show people what it’s like on the bottom of the Soo Locks…all live! Not only did he fall in love with Northern Michigan he also fell in love with his beautiful wife Stephanie and got married in 2007 on the beaches of Maui!
He has been honored to be able to tell the stories of the people of Northern Michigan, especially the Veterans. “When you point a camera at someone it’s a great responsibility and it’s one I take very seriously. I’m honored that so many people have trusted me over the years and will continue to do my best for anyone that lets me tell their story. I love this area and the people that live here!” says Corey.
Corey has won dozens of MAB and AP awards. He has also won 11 Emmy’s and 2 Edward R. Murrow awards.
He lives in McBain with his wife and two cats (that found them). He still likes loud rock and roll, camping, travel and anything to do with the Great Lakes.
