8th Annual Burger Bash Raises Funds to Transport Cancer Patients from U.P. to Petoskey

“Thanks for all the support for the last eight years.”

Eight years of flipping and serving burgers for a great cause.

Central Savings Bank and War Memorial Hospital in Sault Saint Marie teamed up again to raise money for the Road to Recovery Program.

The program provides free transportation to cancer patients in the eastern U.P. from the Soo to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, improving access to radiation services.

This event will serve more than 600 burgers along with desserts.

Last year, the event raised $6,800.

It’s all about community uniting for a special cause.

“I think it’s really great for two organizations that are so large in the community to pair up and it’s really powerful. We get a lot of support from the community members.  I think it’s really awesome,” says CSB marketing director, Ashlee Bonnee.
