Upcoming Traverse City Clean Energy Conference, Expo

Innovation is making Northern Michigan better with clean energy—and it’s including not just businesses and professionals, but private citizens.

For the second year in a row, the is taking place as a two-part event from June 21 to 23.

It’s designed to encourage clean energy investments in Michigan homes, and businesses by reaching out to professionals with a conference—and to the public with an expo.

Thursday night kicks off with a solstice party at Little Fleet, with the actual energy conference on Friday, June 22.

The conference is featuring professionals from Microsoft, GM and local energy experts at the Haggerty Center in Downtown Traverse City.

Then it’s the public’s turn to dig into clean energy with the expo at Northwest Michigan College’s Airport Campus on Saturday, June 23, where the non-profit Greater Lansing Area Clean Cities is giving people the chance to test drive electric vehicles.

“That’s clean cars and Teslas, solar rays you can touch and feel, vendors if you want to buy that stuff yourself, Ann Arbor Hands-on Museum with kids’ activities, so there’s something for everyone,” says Dan Worth, program director for Traverse City’s .
