Kim Jong-un Threatens to Cancel Summit After Routine Military Drills Alarm North Korea
President Trump’s upcoming meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is in jeopardy Wednesday morning.
North Korea is threatening to cancel the summit because of routine military drills run by the U.S. and South Korea.
The north says they see the drills as a provocation and a rehearsal for invasion.
North Korea canceled a meeting that was supposed to take place with South Korea to reduce military tensions Wednesday.
Just hours later, Kim issued the threat to the summit with President Trump.
He says he’s not interested in meeting if the Trump Administration demands his country gives up its nuclear weapons.
Despite the warning from North Korea, the pentagon says the historic meeting in Singapore next month is still on.
But if North Korea does back out, it’ll be the fourth time the U.S. has almost reached an agreement with the rogue nation before the plans fell apart.
