Cheboygan Co. Sheriff’s Office and McLaren Northern Michigan Team-Up for Drug Take-Back
In Cheboygan County, the sheriff’s office and McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital came together Thursday to help take back unused drugs.
They hosted a curbside take back this morning where people in the area could bring in any drugs they have around their house, so they could be accounted for and disposed of properly.
It’s an effective and safe way to get many drugs, including controlled substances off the streets and out of homes.
“Our drug take back is very important for the safety in the home and to preserve the environment, and just to limit access to controlled substances to limit abuse and just for the safety,” Pharmacist Janice Seccia, said.
If you couldn’t make it to Cheboygan on Thursday, most law enforcement offices in Northern Michigan have drug take-back boxes on site.
