We love our jobs —and some local 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students think it’s pretty cool too.

In fact, Traverse Heights Elementary School just started producing their own newscast.

“When we do that it’s actually like i am on the news,” said fourth grade student, Adriana Brockie.

“There’s a camera person and three speakers and we all take turns saying something,” she said.

“We sit at a table there’s a paper and a pen we mark down what we want to say if we need to we have a practice if we don’t need to we don’t need a practice we just go on every day,” said Adriana.

“There’s these little slips you can write down if you want to be a camera person or a reorder or if you just want to help out and I really like how kids can choose what they want to do,” she said.

“I usually like to do the talking,” she laughed.

“We have special information for kids people want to know what’s going on like hmmm when’s the ring around the halls with the stuffed animals meeting and beach towel with mom and dad is this is what tells the people when it is what time what day,” said Adriana.

“We have a joke of the day, Mr. Schrock doesn’t look them up, he makes them up himself,” she said.

“I am learning how to use a camera,” she said.

“I love it when Mr. Schrock puts the screen that has the news because I feel like I am actually on a news place.”
