The Sugar Island ferry is making limited trips now as Coast Guard crews continue to deal with ice jams on the St. Marys River.
The ferry’s captain says their last run Friday will be at 6 p.m.
After that the U.S. Coast Guard says the ferry will be able to cross the river in the event of an emergency.
The Sugar Island ferry typically runs between Sault Ste. Marie and Sugar Island.
