Grand Traverse County Administrator Resigns, Interim Position Filled
Grand Traverse County administrator Vicki Uppal resigned from her position Wednesday night.
Details are still limited at this point over why she resigned.
Uppal was considered a controversial pick for the position when she took the post in September.
With some commissioners telling us at the time they didn’t think she had enough experience.
Commissioners tell us that she resigned for personal family reasons and that she is done immediately.
They did mention that in her contract it states that she has to give 45 days’ notice but they not only waived that but also accepted her resignation.
They also recommended and voted to make Jean Derenzy interim administrator.
