Northern Michigan Drivers Urged To Take It Slow on Slippery Roads
If you’re heading out the door Thursday morning, be sure to take your time.
Police are warning drivers to slow down and be aware of changing conditions.
The fresh layer of snow is making the roads slick in some spots.
The roads is Mancelona have been plowed but they are still slippery.
About Seven miles north, in Alba, the National Weather Service says they received eight inches of snow.
Alba Schools are closed Thursday and Antrim County is in a winter storm warning until 4:00 p.m.
Snow plow drivers throughout Northern Michigan have been working around the clock to clean up the snowy mess, clearing both roadways and parking lots
Meanwhile, tow truck companies are responding to a growing number of slide-offs and crashes.
“We already saw two drive offs this morning. None of them were major,” said Bojack’s Manager, Luke Morgan. “They were both minor but people were going 40 and still sliding around, still very slick. Just take it slow. Don’t try to be the first one there.”
