A craft show helped raise money for a northern Michigan band program Saturday.

The Cadillac Band Boosters have hosted a craft show to raise money for the band program at Cadillac Area Public Schools for the last 40 years.

Dozens of craft vendors took over a show room at Fox Ford in Cadillac.

The boosters collect donations at the door and also raise money from vendor booth fees.

The money raised helps pay for uniforms, instruments, and trips to performances.

They say it’s become an event the Cadillac community looks forward to each year and continues to reach out and support.

“I think it’s great. I think that it’s amazing that after 40 years we still have a great turn out like we do because not a lot of things last for 40 years anymore, and I think we’re very privileged to still have people show up at our door, be waiting at our door at 9:00 a.m. when we open,” said booster President Christine Nelson.

The band boosters hoped to raise around $4,000 from the craft show.
