DNR Shares Tips Before Firearm Deer Hunting Season
Deer hunting season is just around the corner.
With firearm season beginning November 15 it is important to keep safe for the season.
Before hunters go out next Wednesday for opening day it is good to freshen up on some ways to stay safe.
Regardless of the method, hunters must have on the color orange.
They should also make sure to identify their target and be aware of the harvesting rules, as they can vary from county to county.
Additionally, be aware of what’s behind the deer that you’re hunting.
“It’s a good thing to keep in mind that you should decide before you go out if you want to harvest one or two antler deer. Once you make that license purchase, you’ve made your decision and we want to keep hunting and if you’re successful on opening morning, and you want to keep going let’s make sure you have a deer combo license,” Katie Keen, wildlife technician, DNR said.
