Michigan lawmakers are proposing a tax on bottled water.
Under the legislation companies who bottle water from Michigan sources would be charged a 5 cent per gallon fee.
The bill would be aimed at companies like Nestle, who is receiving criticism for drawing groundwater without compensating the state.
They do have a well in Northern Michigan, just north of Evart.
Representative Peter Lucido says Nestle could be on the line for $20 million in taxes if the new bill passes.
