The cause of a deadly fire in Mason County has been deemed undetermined by a fire marshal.

Last week’s fire killed David Nelson.

The Mason County sheriff says nelson told detectives he was pouring gas into a lawnmower while smoking a cigarette, and that’s when the fire started.

Traces of an accelerant were found at the scene along with a burned gas can.

Investigators are still waiting for toxicology results.
