Texas Shaped Cookies Benefit Hurricane Harvey Victims

Following the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, there are a multitude of ways people are reaching out to help.

And for Elizabeth Mahon, her method involves dessert.

Elizabeth runs her own cookie company, District Baking Co. out of Washington.

Since the storm in Texas, she has shifted her focus to helping victims.

Just like a painter uses a canvas, her Texas shaped cookies are a form of art she has begun mass producing in hopes to raise money.

Her fundraising bake sale has caught a lot of attention on social media, initially leading to $400 raised.

With her next sale she hopes to raise $5,000.

Currently the cookies are only available in Washington for a donation of $100 per dozen.
