Construction Businesses Give Back to Traverse City Therapeutic Ranch

Construction on two new decks is underway at Reining Liberty Ranch near Traverse City.

It’s a helping hand from local businesses for a place that often extends its own hand to local veterans.

The ranch is a non-profit therapeutic riding center in the Traverse City area, dedicated to giving veterans and their families a sense of community.

Today, with donated materials from Kingsley Lumber Company, construction began on two new decks.

One handicapped accessible allows safer access to the restroom.

All the work was done for free by volunteers from North Wind Construction.

Rebecca Bigelow, the ranch’s director, said seeing this many people give so much to the cause was overwhelming.

"I feel amazed and extremely, profoundly grateful almost to the point of disbelief that this kind of gift would be brought here so quickly and through so many people that are caring about our mission here to serve veterans and this community,” she says.

The owner of the Kingsley Lumber Company, who donated the materials for the project, is also a veteran
