Police Investigate Homicide in Iosco Co. After Finding Remains in Shallow Grave
Michigan State Police are investigating a potential homicide that happened "quite some time ago."
We first brought you this story Thursday night, when police arrested a woman for an unrelated domestic violence incident.
That woman tipped officers off about a murder, giving an address to a home in Hale, Michigan.
A cadaver dog led police to the backyard where they found a shallow grave that appeared to have been dug up recently.
Investigators uncovered the remains, likely those of a 72-year-old man from Hale who has been missing for weeks.
The identity has not been confirmed.
They say if it wasn’t for the original tip from the woman, the crime may have never been discovered.
Police arrested a man at the home Thursday.
It’s unclear his involvement in the case.
