Traverse City Heart Wall Makes Comeback

A popular piece of downtown Traverse City art is making a comeback.

The heart wall used be in the Chase Bank Plaza.

The brick wall, covered in hearts, was a favorite spot for visitors to take photos.

It got covered up when construction started on a new building.

But Monday night, city commissioners approved a plan for a new heart wall at a new building on Park Street.

Local businesses say they’re thrilled to hear about the plans.

“Art is what sets the human aside, we create things, we do things like this and really if we have these certain identifying art pieces, people want to go have their photo next to them and they’ll know you were in Traverse City,” said Sue Ann Round of the Michigan Artists Gallery.

The heart wall will be near the public restrooms of the new building.
