AuSable River Festival Draws Crowds for Canoe Marathon and More
From the river to the streets of downtown, Grayling has come alive.
Thousands are flocking to the AuSable River Festival.
It draws people from across the country to Crawford County, and is happening right now.
The festival revolves around the AuSable River Canoe Marathon, with time trials throughout the week.
Vendors will fill both sides of the river in City Park on Friday. With the art festival, car show and parade still coming, executive director Traci Cook says there’s lots left to do.
"The river festival is huge because the race is only one day,” she says. “Time trials are two days before. The fest brings in people from all demographics, from all ages here to do the craft show and the car show. The river festival kicks off around it to get people in town for the week. Everything is going on."
The AuSable River Festival’s website has a complete schedule of events leading up to the canoe race on Saturday.
