Grand Traverse Co. Road Commission to Hear Public Comment About Bluff Road Becoming Natural Beauty Road

In less than an hour people in Peninsula Township will make their voices heard about possibly turning Bluff Road into a Natural Beauty Road.

Grand Traverse County Road Commission board members will listen to both sides Tuesday night at the township hall.

If Bluff Road gets a natural beauty designation, the road commission would be more limited with mowing.

It would also impact how they could cut trees, and could lower the speed limit.

But several people living on Bluff Road have concerns about the designation.

“If they make it a Natural Beauty Road it’s going to make the rules and regulations and everything so much stiffer than they already are and right now, it’s really hard to do anything with your own property anymore,” Patricia Pascoe said.

The meeting starts at 7.

Commissioners have until August to make a decision.
