Clare County Deputies Continue Deadly Stabbing Investigation

Continuing coverage on the homicide in Clare County.

Deputies believe the suspect was high on heroin when they arrested him.

Deputies say it happened around noon on Saturday at a home on East Stockwell in Hamilton Township.

A woman picked up three people she may have known Saturday who were looking for a ride to a Clare bus stop.

Two men from Detroit got into a fight, and deputies say the suspect stabbed the victim in the head and chest.

Deputies say the victim tried to run away.

"The victim was stabbed at the scene and got into a car and drove down the road to another house to get help and when he pulled into the drive way he ran into the garage," said Sheriff John Wilson.

The victim died on his way to the hospital.

The suspect was arrested on charges of open murder and is expected to be arraigned Monday.
