‘White Boy Rick’ to be Released from Prison

The Michigan Parole Board has decided that the man known as ‘White Boy Rick’ will be released from prison.

Richard Wershe Jr. has been in prison for 30 years, serving a life sentence for a drug conviction.

He was just 17 when he was sentenced.

Wershe has been the state’s longest serving non-violent juvenile offender.

He’s been serving his sentence at the Oaks Correctional Facility in Manistee County.

He could be released as soon as August, but Wershe could still serve prison time in Florida for a crime he committed while behind bars.
