Boyne City Woman Found Not Guilty By Reason of Insanity in Mother’s Death
A woman accused of stabbing her mother to death pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
We first told you about Rachael Crisman in late October when police say she was found covered in blood in Boyne City.
She later admitted to killing her mother.
Friday, a judge accepted her plea of not guilty by reason of insanity to a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
The prosecutor says a doctor found Crisman was illogical and paranoid at the time of the homicide.
The judge ordered Crisman be taken to the Center for Forensic Psychiatry for evaluation.
In two months, the center will file a report recommending future treatment options.
