Cherry Capital Airport Prepares to Welcome First Non-Stop Flight From Texas

It’s a big day at Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City.

They welcome the first direct flight from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in Texas.

It’s a flight that TVC has been working on with American Airlines and other local organizations over the last four years.

9&10’s Taylor Jones joins us from TVC as the airport and city prepares to welcome the first guests from Texas.

In just a few hours the first passengers from Dallas/Fort Worth will be stepping off their plane right here in Traverse City.

The plane is expected to arrive around 2:45 Friday afternoon and then head right back to Dallas at 3:20

It’s the first day of the daily service between TVC and DFW this summer, making it easier for travelers from the southwest religion of the U.S. to come to Northern Michigan.

This direct flight will allow many to come explore all the area has to offer, from the downtowns, golf courses, beaches, festivals and so much more.

Dallas is also an international connection with flights to and from South America which could be very helpful with Northern Michigan’s wine industry.

Coming up Friday night on 9&10 News we will be here at the airport speaking with passengers and airport officials getting off the flight on this exciting day.
